2 oz. gin
½ oz. triple sec
1 whole plum, muddled
½ oz. fresh lime juice
½ oz. simple syrup w/fresh lemon & ginger (recipe below)
Peel of lime for garnish

Simple syrup

Juice and peel of 1 lemon
1 cup sugar
2 inch knob of fresh ginger, sliced

To make the simple syrup, combine 1 cup of water, sugar, lemon peel, lemon juice and ginger in a small saucepan and bring to a simmer on stovetop. As soon as the sugar has dissolved completely, remove from stove and set aside. Let steep for 30 minutes then strain into a jar or glass for storage.

Make the cocktail

Add all elements except lime peel into a cocktail shaker filled with ice. Shake and serve in a cocktail glass with the lime peel as garnish.
